Get The Look: Kitchen Decor

I’m kicking off the “Get the Look” series, and today is all about kitchen decor ideas based on our DIY kitchen remodel.

I rounded up some of the most asked about pieces in our kitchen, and they are all linked and listed below:

I am asked about the color of our cabinets all the time, and they came finished in this color. They are RTA (ready-to-assemble) cabinets that we put together and hung (you can read more about that process HERE).

As you can see from the cabinet supplier’s image above, I was anticipating a true gray, but there are all sorts of different factors that can make color look different – it could be lighting or the colors I have around it. I had the gray color-matched, and you can find that formula HERE.

For the cabinet hardware, I selected hardware that had modern lines, and I chose a Golden Nickel color.

The color helps blend the gold accents (faucets, frames, and canisters) and the stainless steel appliances. You can read more on my cabinet hardware HERE.

The silhouettes are an easy DIY project that will cost you almost next to nothing.

See the tutorial for making your own custom silhouettes HERE.

I forgot to add my canister set to the kitchen image item roundup. However, I’m often asked about the canister set. It is one of the easiest DIYs on my blog.

I’ve had them for years, and you can see more details on this project HERE.

Let me know if there’s a room in my home you want added to this new series, and I will do my best to make it happen!

  1. I love the rug in your kitchen, and I really love how affordable it is! We’re in the process of scrapping of f wallpaper and painting the walls. I suspect I’ll get this rug. Thanks for sharing.

    1. I love the kitchen flooring. Was it new or did you have them sanded and stained? If they are new where did you buy them from?
