DIY Laundry Room Makeover

I’m excited to share our DIY Laundry Room Makeover today.

I have been dying to share the after photos with you all!  The past 30 days of my life have been spent DIYing this laundry room makeover (in partnership with BLANCO).  I think it has been 30 days well spent! When we first moved into our home, the cabinets were dark green.  I decorated the space with all my leftovers from the house and tried to make it a pretty space…

Later I realized I spent way too much time in this room to be staring at a space I didn’t love.  However, I didn’t have much of a budget, so I did the best I could and painted the cabinets and added fabric to the walls:

It made a big difference, but it still wasn’t my dream space.  When I received the opportunity to partner with BLANCO on this laundry room makeover, I was able to DIY my dream space!

Our laundry room sink was original to the house, and it was stained with grime and paint from years of use from the previous owners and years of use from my projects.

I had spray painted the faucet gold but it wasn’t looking too great. The sink was replaced with BLANCO LIVEN Sink and the faucet with the BLANCO ARTONA faucet – both in Anthracite.

The counter was replaced with a stock counter from our local hardware store, and the difference is night and day.

The new sink and faucet are absolutely gorgeous. I have never shared the desk area in our laundry room because I ran out of steam the first time I painted the cabinets.  These poor things were hiding in shame (and junk).

I painted the cabinets (you can see the full tutorial here) and added new hardware.  The after is a space I love and am excited to use!

I shared my laundry room design board a few weeks ago, and the entire room was designed around the gorgeous black sink.

The walls were painted a brighter white and the doors were painted a dark gray.

I tiled the back wall and stenciled the floor (tutorial coming soon).

I added a rack for hanging clothes and replaced our pegboard wall with easy DIY open shelves.  It functions so much better for our family since we needed more storage in the room.

I also added hooks for my kids’ sports uniforms.  Once I wash them, they’re ready for their next game.

I replaced our fluorescent lights with this light from Amazon (the popcorn ceilings are a project for another day).

I can’t tell you how much we love our new sink, and it will be seeing even more useful because we are beginning demo on our kitchen this weekend.  Say hello to our temporary kitchen sink!

A special thanks to BLANCO for the partnership on this laundry room.  It wouldn’t have happened without you!

Laundry Room Makeover

Laundry room makeover decor ideas

I am in the middle of a month-long laundry room makeover with Blanco.  Blanco makes unique luxury sinks, faucets, and decorative accessories. I was so excited for the opportunity to partner with Blanco on our Laundry Room Makeover because our laundry room sink and faucet are a complete mess.  It’s definitely been well used…

This mess will be replaced by Blanco’s Liven sink in anthracite and Blanco’s Artona Faucet in stainless finish/anthracite.

When we first moved into our home, the cabinets were dark and the laundry room became home for decor items I didn’t know what to do with.

Then early last year, I updated the space for only around $200.  I painted the cabinets and added fabric to the wall.

Our space continues to evolve and time goes by.  We are in the middle of preparing for a large kitchen renovation.  Part of the plan is to remove the wall that our piano sits against…

We will have to move the piano to my office…

This means my desk will have to go – and I’ve lost my home office. I really don’t spend much time working on my desk or desktop (I mainly use my laptop), but I still wanted a dedicated office space.  So, the laundry room will include my home office. There’s a desk in the space that I’ve never shared because it’s never looked good, but that’s about to change!

On the other side of my laundry room is a built-in desk in 90’s green.  It has a lot of potential, and I’m excited to make the space my new home office. Stay tuned – I’ll be sharing more soon! Go create something!
