Home Tour

I am busy working on two fairly large remodel projects, so I unfortunately I haven’t had time to create new tutorials.  However, I recently had my friend Mel of Carpenter Photo come over and shoot my home.  I thought it would be fun to share an updated home tour with you all. Our kitchen is special to me because my husband and I DIYed it together last fall.  You can see more on that journey here.

The farmhouse sink was one of the tougher projects in the remodel, and you can see how we installed the sink here.

We have an eating area off the kitchen, and I love all the light the space it has.  Those open shelves are an easy (and inexpensive) DIY project, and you can see the full tutorial here.

The kitchen table was made to look like wood using this painting technique.

Off the kitchen is our family room.  I added dark navy walls to the space (Night View by Valspar) and created a photo gallery wall which you can see more on here.

In our family room, I wasn’t sure what to do with the walls on either side of the fireplace.  I ended up creating an elegant DIY paneled wall treatment, and you can see how to do that for around $300 here.

Also off the kitchen is our dining room.  My grandmother’s chandelier is definitely the center of attention in the space.

Across the entryway from the dining room is our home library.

I have always dreamed of owning a rolling library ladder, so these shelves were designed just for the ladder (well, and for all our books).

Off the garage, is our most used space – the mudroom.

I share more details on our mudroom makeover here.

I love all the hydrangeas that bloom around our home in later summer.

Our home backs up to a large field, so we often have a cornfield fence.

Thanks so much for touring my home today.  I can’t wait to share the projects I’m currently working on.  Stay tuned!

More to come – go create something!
