How to Help this Holiday Season

I’ve partnered with FiltersFast.com once again, and today I’m sharing How to Help this Holiday Season.

A couple years ago, I became familiar with FiltersFast.com at a home decor blogging conference (Haven).  Not only did I love how FiltersFast.com provided easy ways to keep my home and family clean and healthy with their Home Filter Club, but I especially loved their heart for helping others.

We take it for granted how easy it is to get clean water.  My biggest worry for water is making sure I change out my fridge water filter (which now I don’t even worry about since it shows up on my doorstep every 6 months thanks to FiltersFast.com Home Filter Club). However, there is a global water crisis, and FiltersFast.com partnered with two other organizations (Trekdesk.com and Winetowater.org) and created a charity partnership: The W3 Project.

How to Help this Holiday Season

The W3 Project’s mission is to end the global water crisis. The statistics are heartbreaking:

  • 1 in 10 people lack access to clean water.
  • 1 in 3 people lack access to improved sanitation.
  • A child dies EVERY 90 seconds from a water related illness.

The partners of the W3 Project share a passion for bringing cleaning water to people in need and fighting this epidemic.  They have worked in 25 countries and have provided clean water to over 600,000 people. Wine To Water supports over 30 field staff on 4 continents and they work to empower the local community to help them meet their ongoing needs.  With every project, they work on bringing the proper type of water system to the communities. Here’s where you can help. For every $1 donated, you can help provide an entire year of life saving clean water for a person in need. Want to get involved?  Donate directly to Wine to Water HERE or donate at checkout when you purchase a filter at Filtersfast.com.

Prepping for Fall

Yesterday I was cleaning the kitchen before we were off to our activities for the evening, and my daughter yelled for homework help from another room. Thinking I would step away for a minute, I left the water running in my sink only to forget for WAY too long (after the homework help I saw myself in the mirror and decided my hair and makeup required my attention).  I found my kitchen sink had overflowed and water was everywhere, and my sad attempts at multitasking is exactly why I need help prepping for fall with FiltersFast.com.

I am such a summer girl that I hate admitting fall is right around the corner.  However, as we are flying through September, it is time to begin prepping for fall.  Our family is busy – just like we all are.  I obviously need help keeping my home (and family) clean and healthy.  Thank goodness I have one less thing to worry about thanks to FiltersFast.com Home Filter Club. It is so easy to sign up, and I now have the luxury of not worrying about changing the filters – one less thing off my plate is always a good thing!

My middle child deals with allergies, so it is extra important for us to change out those dirty filters.  Most home filters need to be changed every three months, but that time frame can vary from house to house depending on the age of the home, whether or not you have pets and if you suffer from allergies. Now with FiltersFast.com, I can enjoy the convenience of not having to remember to reorder filters (both air and water filters), and I select a delivery schedule that works best for our system.  It is effortless, easy, and the filters show up on my doorstep when it is time to change them!

It is important to me to keep my family healthy (and as free from allergens as possible) and my home HVAC system running smoothly (we want it to last as long as possible). Now that I have clean filters, I am on to the rest of my fall cleaning checklist:

  • Clean windows
  • Organize Closets (donate old clothes)
  • Shampoo carpets
  • Check batteries in fire alarms
  • Deep cleaning of my home

I probably also need to add “don’t leave water running when you leave the room” to my list.

What else is on your fall prep checklist?  I would love to know!
