Master Bedroom Makeover

Our master bedroom is always the last room that receives attention which is crazy considering how much time we spend in it. So, when I had the opportunity partner on our Master Bedroom Makeover with The RoomPlace, I was thrilled! Master Bedroom Makeover with The RoomPlace When we first moved into our home, we brought all the furniture from our previous house. Later I painted the walls and added new drapes, a headboard and a DIY side table.  It was looking more like me, but it still felt a cluttered as filled the large room with LOTS of little pieces. I was excited to give the master the attention it deserved and add large pieces that actually fill the space – like a king-sized bed. Some of the pieces came via delivery, and the delivery guys were efficient, polite and removed all the trash. The smaller pieces (web-specials) came straight to my doorstep via FedEx.  The pieces were easy to assemble, and usually only required a few minutes of work. My favorite new piece in the master is our amazing Therapedic Luxury Pillow Top Mattress.  I feel like I’m sleeping in a luxurious hotel – every single night! The luxurious mattress requires a luxurious bed, and we are in love with the Isabella King Bed. How can you have go wrong with tufting?! It is a gorgeous, elegant piece, and the perfect centerpiece for our master bedroom. I added the Navy Cotton Velvet Throw Pillows . I added a little reading corner in our room with the Langston Taupe Chaise. This gorgeous mirror bounces light around and allows me to approve my outfits every morning! I recently lost my home office to bookshelves and a piano, so a cute little office space in our bedroom was created using the Silvia Accent Chair, a Writing Desk, and a Gray Nightstand (perfect for storing my files and holding my printer). Our bedroom has a lot of natural light from the large wall of windows, so it’s a delightful place for my home office! Next to my home office, I added this comfy Canyon Accent Chair. I am in love with the navy color and velvet texture – it ties in well with the throw pillows on the bed. Want to recreate our Master Bedroom Makeover?  Here are the items used:

Living Room Makeover

See all the details on our Living Room Makeover. When I was asked to partner with The RoomPlace on a spring living room makeover, I was thrilled. Living Room Makeover with The RoomPlace Our living room was filled with our old home’s hand-me-downs, and they never fit our current space.  The furniture looked forced in the room, and the sofa cushions were ripped (which meant strategic placement of pillows and throws). While planning the makeover, I knew the room needed a couple of accent chairs and sofas.  I also wanted a bolder color for the space.  I fell in love with a floral shop display I saw when I was in NYC last month – a navy wall with fun pops of color.

Spring Living Room Makeover Design Board

Here is a photo of the living room before the makeover: And here’s the after: We have a “man cave” where we watch most of our tv, so our living room is mainly for entertaining (we purchased leather sofas in the man cave from The RoomPlace several years ago and have been so pleased with their quality). I wanted the newly designed living room to be a space that was elegant yet still comfortable.  Also, we often host larger groups in our home and need plenty of seating.

Roxbury Sofas

Two sofas would allow for maximum seating (verses the sofa and loveseat from before the makeover).  I chose the Roxbury Sofas in Gray.  I love the modern clean lines of the sofas, and I am always a fan of anything tufted. The sofas are a soft gray chenille fabric and are sturdy but comfortable. Keeping with the symmetrical look of the matching sofas, I wanted two chairs to place on either side of the fireplace.

Isabella Accent Chairs

I selected the Isabella Accent Chairs.  The chairs are elegant and inviting and work well with the sofas. The chairs have a more traditional look which contrasts nicely with the modern sofas.  The nailhead trim is a gorgeous addition to the already pretty chairs – especially the oversized nailhead trim on the sides of the chairs. Before the new furniture from The RoomPlace arrived, I added DIY paneled walls to either side of the fireplace and painted the walls in a deep navy (and I will be sharing the full tutorial for the paneling soon). My furniture arrived quickly, and I was incredibly impressed with the delivery and service. Set up was fast and the furniture was placed exactly where I wanted it. I love the new spring makeover for our living room, and in less than a week our family room was transformed into a completely new space. The furniture fits the room and invites guests in. Pops of color were added through pillows and accent pieces. The furniture gives us the maximum seating in our space without being overpowering. Our family is loving the new space and the comfortable furniture.
