Easy Easter Cake Decor

Baking (and cooking) are not my gifts, but I do appreciate pretty things. Today I’m sharing easy Easter cake decor that I promise you can do, and it begins with a box cake mix (win, win)!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Samsung. All opinions are 100% mine.

Easy Easter Cake Decor

To begin, make two round cakes using a boxed cake mix. Lena and I went with classic yellow cake.

Until recently, I have been the person who buys the coordinating frosting tub. However, I tried making my own buttercream icing and was amazing at how easy it is to make AND how much of a difference it makes.

Here is a buttercream recipe I use:

  • 1/2 cup softened butter (it is supposed to be unsalted, but I use what I have on hand)
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbs milk
  • Food coloring (if desired)

Using my mixer, I cream the butter and then add the powdered sugar. Add in the vanilla and then the milk. Beat for a while until the desired consistency. The food coloring is optional.

I often talk about our Samsung Family Hub fridge because we love it so much. It is so much more than storage for our family, and Lena and I used it to stream music while we baked.

I also used it to double check my buttercream icing recipe since I can search (and save) recipes using one of the apps.

We used our Samsung oven to bake the cakes (which is connected to our family hub). I can work on other things and through an app on my phone I’m alerted when things like my oven preheating is complete.

Lena and I had so much fun baking together, but (obviously) decorating the cake was the part I was most excited about.

For the cake decor, we used coconut and mini cadbury eggs.

We added a little green coloring to the coconut (we were trying to make it look like the classic grass we add to easter baskets), and Lena created a nest in the middle of the cake filled with the mini eggs. We added more coconut and eggs to the base of the cake.

Once it was complete, we invited the boys to sample the cake, and it was a hit.

If you’re looking for an easy dessert for Easter that will still impress, then definitely make this cake!

Thanks to Samsung for sponsoring this post and making appliances that make our life easier (and more fun)!

Amazon Easter Decor

Yesterday I pulled out our Easter decor to brighten our home while we are all stuck at home, and I rounded up some Amazon Easter Decor so you can add fun to your space – without leaving the house!

We all need a reason to smile right now, and this Easter decor roundup will do just that. It is cheery and whimsical.

I love hand-painted eggs, and Amazon has SO many options (perfect for any decor style). However, they are so pretty that you may just want to leave them out year-round.

An easy and inexpensive way to add some holiday touches to your home is through seasonal dish towels like this bunny dish towel (and it comes in a 2-pack).

This glass cake stand is a beautiful way to add some spring touches to your kitchen, but it’s also a piece that you can use year-round! It is perfect for special events, and I have one I use for everything from appetizers to cookies.

This cute throw pillow will make you smile with its fuzzy little chicks. It would be perfect all year long in a kid’s room or playroom.

Make any boxed cupcakes look bakery worthy with these cute Peter Rabbit cupcake toppers and wrappers.

This book page print will last beyond Easter and would look especially adorable it kids’ spaces. Amazon offers a lot of various book page prints.

Wishing you all the best as we fight against this virus. It is such a crazy time – stay safe – and sane!
