Free Print – No Rain, No Flowers

I am long overdue for sharing a free printable, and I have the PERFECT PRINT for this spring: No Rain, No Flowers.

When you are in the middle of one of life’s downpours, it can be hard to believe something great is right around the corner. However, this little quote is a great reminder that your bad days will pass and you need to be ready for lots of growth. Flowers need rain to grow.

Although it is not fun, having to sit through rain makes those flowers even more special.

This gorgeous artwork was created by my sweet friend Julie of Calligraphy Jewels. We were neighbors for several years before we moved to our current home. Go check her out on Facebook: Calligraphy Jewels. She creates all kinds of beautiful work and specializes in calligraphy. I love seeing everything she creates.

If you want a JPG of the FREE PRINT – NO RAIN, NO FLOWERS, simply click and save the image below. Print one out for yourself and gift another to a friend.

Or you can click and save the PDF file below.

I hope you enjoy this free printables, and I have several other freebies as well. Just go to my blog page and and click on “printables” at the top. You’ll see all kinds of fun printables free for your personal use. I have everything from chore charts to bible verses. I’d love for you to tag me if you use any of these in your home. I always love seeing what you are up to.

And remember, without rain there are no flowers.

Pumpkin Patch Print

I am excited to share this FREE customizable Pumpkin Patch Print, and I’m also sharing how to transfer and image to wood!

I have been slightly obsessed with large wooden signs and wanted to create one specifically for fall. I decided a “vintage” pumpkin patch sign would be perfect.

Free Pumpkin Patch Print (1 of 1)

Last time I made a large wooden sign, I used my silhouette machine.  Although time consuming, it worked well.  However, I really wanted to try a different transfer method where you transfer a printed paper onto wood.  I found this video on YouTube from DecoArt, and decided to give it a try! I created a printable pumpkin patch sign (the download is available toward the end of this post).  This printable is sized to 8.5 x 11, and there is an editable version to add your own town and state.  The pumpkin patch printable could also be mounted to a board with spray adhesive or simply framed. However, if you have a little more time and are up for a fun DIY project, join me in this fun paper transfer method.

DIY Wooden Fall Sign (1 of 1)

For this project you will need:

  • Decor Art Media Medium Matte
  • Printed Design (mirrored/reversed)
  • Brush
  • Sponge (in place of the rag I used)
  • Spray Bottle
  • Sandpaper
  • Varnish
  • Cut-to-size Piece of Plywood
  • Furring Strips (for frame)

DIY Pumpkin Patch Sign (1 of 1)

First, cut to size a plywood board to the size of the printed (reversed) image.  I blew up my pumpkin patch print (I enlarged mine to around 20 x 24) and REVERSED the image so it would print backward.  I had it printed at a local office store. Reverse the image because the printed piece will be placed face-down.  Stay with me, it will make sense!

FREE Pumpkin Patch Sign (1 of 1)

Cover the entire board with a thin coat of the medium and allow it to dry.

Transfering an Image to wood (1 of 1)

Tear the edges of the paper (according to the video this helps hide the edges).

Transfering an image (1 of 1)

Add a thin coat of the medium to the printed page and allow it to dry.

Transfering an Image with DecoArt (1 of 1)

After both the board and the print are dry, add a thick coat of the medium to the board and glue down the printed art – face-down.

Transfering an Image - Reverse Image (1 of 1)

Allow everything to completely dry overnight.

Transfer an image with media (1 of 1)

The idea behind this process is to remove most of the paper so only a thin layer is left allowing the ink to be visible.  To do this, wet down the paper.

Spray bottle for transfering an image (1 of 1)

The paper is scrubbed away.  Since I didn’t have a sponge, I used a cloth (but the video recommends a sponge).

Removing paper for image transfer (1 of 1)

This process is time-consuming – especially on a large piece like mine.

Layers and layers of paper (1 of 1)

The cloth wasn’t doing a great job removing all the paper, so I pulled out my dish scrubber.

Wooden Pumpkin Patch Sign Tutorial (1 of 1)

Be careful with using something abrasive because I actually scrubbed through the paper down to the board in a few spots:

Scrubbing too hard (1 of 1)

Once satisfied with the amount of paper removed, allow the sign to dry.

DIY Pumpkin Patch Sign Tutorial (1 of 1)

If the distressed look is desired, lightly sand the sign.

DIY Fall Wooden Sign (1 of 1)

When it dries, the image does begin to fade.

You can add a varnish to help brighten the image color.

I used a weathered gray to continue with my antique, distressed look.

You can see the right side where I added the varnish.

The varnish helps bring out the color.

How to make a DIY Fall Wooden Sign (1 of 1)

Once the entire sign is varnished, allow it to dry and frame it using furring strips (you can see more detail about that process HERE).

I love this quote.  It is such a great reminder that God is in control, and I need to trust His plan for me.  (This is SO hard for the control freak in me!)

Printable Cleaning Schedule

I’m excited to share this FREE printable cleaning schedule with you today.

 Free printable cleaning schedule

Keeping a clean house is just hard.  Life is busy, and there are all kinds of hoops to jump through to get a clean house: jobs, kids, pets, sports, lessons, school, and the list goes on!  As a mom of three and a DIYer, I’m always working on a project which means I have a constant mess somewhere.

However, I’ve found a method that helps provide me with some sanity and a clean house! I don’t enjoy spending a lot of time cleaning, so I break my home into five zones.  I clean one zone a day for however long I have that day.  Maybe I only have 15 minutes.  It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you’re focused in on one zone.  I like to do the zones during the week and take the weekend off. If you have extra time (or a schedule that doesn’t work to spread out your cleaning schedule), you can knock out a few zones in one day.  Or, there are days where I have guests coming, then I’ll knock out all five zones (the entire house) in one day.

However, I prefer to break it up for my sanity.  It’s less overwhelming than cleaning an entire house, and I find that I’m more willing to clean if I break it up.  You can do this cleaning method weekly or biweekly. I created a printable to keep your zones in check.  I realize all our living spaces are different, but hopefully, this printout covers yours:

Cleaning Schedule

Zone 1: Bathroom(s).  I start here because it’s my least favorite zone to clean.  I suggest cleaning the mirrors, sinks, scrubbing the floors, tub, shower, and toilet.

Zone 2: The kitchen and dining room.  Clean the floors (sweep, mop, or vacuum), scrub the sink, clean the appliances and counters, and dust if needed.

Zone 3: The entryway(s), stairs, and office.  Clean the floors (sweep, mop, or vacuum), dust furniture, and pick up if needed.

Zone 4: Living Spaces.  These can be the family room, rec room, and /or basement.  Pick up, clean the floors, and dust.

Zone 5: Bedrooms.  Pick up, clean floors, dust, and wash sheets.

Download your PDF here —> Cleaning Schedule

Once you’ve cleaned all these zones, you should have a clean house!  Cleaning your house seems less daunting when you break it down into five zones. Also, there are certain tasks that are helpful to do daily so you can stay on top of the mess.

  • a load of laundry
  • sort mail
  • take out trash
  • pick up the house
  • clean counters (put away dishes & wipe off counters)
  • make beds

I hung my cleaning schedule inside my closet where I store all my cleaning supplies

Cleaning Closet

As a blogger, I’m always sharing photos of beautifully staged photos.  In real life, my home is used for living.  However, my job is to share inspiring ideas for pretty spaces.  To make them Pinterest-worthy, I need to keep a clean house.  An organized cleaning schedule and a great vacuum help me prep the space for these photos.  I hope I’ve given you some tips for maintaining some order and cleanliness in your home!  By creating a plan to stay on top of your cleaning, you’ll find that you’ll want to clean since it will be less overwhelming!

I hope this Printable Cleaning Schedule is helpful.

Matthew 4:19 Printable

I’m a little late on this month’s Bible verse – but better late than never, right?! This month’s free Bible printable – Matthew 4:19 – Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men. I love this verse, and it is a great one to memorize.  I also think this printable would be especially adorable hanging in a little boy’s room, a lake house, or even a bathroom!  The design has a bit of a nautical feel, but obviously, the ultimate goal is to use the printable to memorize the verse.
