I am busy working on two fairly large remodel projects, so I unfortunately I haven’t had time to create new tutorials. However, I recently had my friend Mel of Carpenter Photo come over and shoot my home. I thought it would be fun to share an updated home tour with you all. Our kitchen is special to me because my husband and I DIYed it together last fall. You can see more on that journey here.
The farmhouse sink was one of the tougher projects in the remodel, and you can see how we installed the sink here.
We have an eating area off the kitchen, and I love all the light the space it has. Those open shelves are an easy (and inexpensive) DIY project, and you can see the full tutorial here.
The kitchen table was made to look like wood using this painting technique.
Off the kitchen is our family room. I added dark navy walls to the space (Night View by Valspar) and created a photo gallery wall which you can see more on here.
In our family room, I wasn’t sure what to do with the walls on either side of the fireplace. I ended up creating an elegant DIY paneled wall treatment, and you can see how to do that for around $300 here.
Also off the kitchen is our dining room. My grandmother’s chandelier is definitely the center of attention in the space.
Across the entryway from the dining room is our home library.
I have always dreamed of owning a rolling library ladder, so these shelves were designed just for the ladder (well, and for all our books).
Off the garage, is our most used space – the mudroom.
I share more details on our mudroom makeover here.
I love all the hydrangeas that bloom around our home in later summer.
Our home backs up to a large field, so we often have a cornfield fence.
Thanks so much for touring my home today. I can’t wait to share the projects I’m currently working on. Stay tuned!
More to come – go create something!

LOVE the rug in your formal dinning room. Is this new? BEAUTIFUL HOME!
Your home is stunning. I love it all. Everything looks so beautifully pulled together and I love all the panels and moldings too. Congratulations on such a great kitchen renovation too.
Fabulous!! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for stopping by!
Your home is gorgeous. I love your work and style. I’m in the process of decorating or home we purchased 2 years ago. I have done some similar work and colors. Having trouble with my dining room though. I like what you did with the wall panels, I’m considering it. Looking forward to see what else you do.
Thank Nicole! Our dining room has caused stress from the day we moved in. I hope you figures out a plan for yours, and I appreciate your encouraging words. Have a great week!
Lovely home! I would love to know what that perfect white paint in the dining room is. It’s not too harsh or too yellow. Just lovely
Thank you for sharing!
Hi PJ, the white is Coconut Milk by Valspar. I also love Swiss Coffee by Behr.
I love the wall sconce lights over the open shelving and the lantern light over the kitchen table. I would love to know where you purchased your lighting. Thank you!
The wall lights over the shelves are from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HO8JPAQ/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&th=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=sincersarad-20&linkId=c6b084c7c58661e6483c60ea1f4820f9, and I found the navy light online (I’ll do some searching to find out the source).
